On 15 December 2016, Haddon-Cave J ordered Farkhad to pay Tatiana £453,576,512 by way of financial remedies consequent upon their divorce.
Farkhad has not voluntarily paid a penny of that award and, to date, enforcement has realised only about £5 million.
Instead, the English court has found that Farkhad “has engaged, and continues to engage, in an “elaborate and contumacious campaign to evade and frustrate the enforcement of the judgment debt against him’”.1 He is said to have described the English court’s judgment as being “worth as much as toilet paper”.2
